Addition Renovation

This addition built in the late 80’s had a lot of rot where deck was attached to it. Rim joists, parts of subfloor and lower sheathing needed to be replaced safely. Crawl space was redone with more insulation added. Some framing needed to be done to change patio doors to windows and delete one other patio door. High quality Mohawk flooring was installed with quiet walk underlayment. Additionally a custom archway was built along with other finishing on project. See photos below taken during project.

Family Room Renovation

The family room in this 1970s house had wood paneling and an older laminate floor. Owners wanted a change. Took down the paneling upgraded the insulation to r15 rockwool, drywalled, painted, fixed steps and shelf above the fireplace, and installed Pergo laminate flooring. Recessed lighting was also installed.

Employee Bathroom

Repaired fairly extensive rot existing around toilet area in original bathroom. Took walls down to the studs and removed pre 1950 tile floor that was set in a mud bed (not easy to remove). Turns out wall was built between to floor joist so removing the rotted subfloor had to put blocking in to support new subfloor. Also needed to sister a partial rotted subfloor running along toilet flange. Additionally replaced old supply valves one of which was leaking. Next step was installing certaintieds mildew resistant drywall wall that I use on all bathrooms. After that painting with alabaster from Sherwin Williams and tile selected by client, Basic vanity, mirror and some nice finishes and faucet from delta. Was an appreciated upgrade for the Medicine Shoppe personnel.

House repaint

This Aluminum sided house built in 1955 needed some new color. A lot of prep work was done and top of the line paint was used to give this newly purchased and formerly neglected house a much needed refresh. I installed a new front door and storm door and painted it as well. Added updated lights on the front and back. The homeowners and I were very happy with how it came out. Color looks great on the house and really pops in the neighborhood. Looking forward to future improvements on this home.

Built Ins

Built In Bookcases

The clients needed built-ins on either side of a large window to allow for more storage. Clients also wanted the bookcases to look as if they had been there awhile if not original to this 1860 house. The only real obstacle was the baseboard heaters. The solution was to build platforms to build on that allowed airflow. The house was built in the 1860s and has many Victorian elements. Moldings made on-site were installed to tie the built-ins with trim work in the house. I used high-grade poplar wood for the majority of the project. Painted it with Sherwin Williams extra white semi-gloss and finished it with bronze hardware and grates selected by the client.
